Wendy Labrousse
Veterinarian
DVM
Dr. Wendy Labrousse was born and raised in The Dalles, Oregon, on a small family farm where she was surrounded by numerous animals, including sheep, horses, dogs, cats, chickens, turkeys, ducks, and peacocks. From a young age, Dr. Labrousse had a profound love for animals and never considered a career outside of veterinary medicine. She began working in a veterinary hospital while still in high school.
Dr. Labrousse graduated from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
Her favorite part of practice is helping animals and their families. Dr. Labrousse believes that through education, patients can have better lives because families will have a better understanding of disease processes and what they can do to help their animals achieve the best possible outcomes and quality of life.
In her personal time, Wendy enjoys fiber arts, gardening, hiking, and spending time at the local beaches. She and her husband live on a small hobby farm. Her children were raised in Coos Bay and graduated from Marshfield High School in Coos Bay.
Dr. Labrousse is a member of the Oregon Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. In practice, she emphasizes gentle handling of patients and has a strong interest in veterinary dentistry and oral care.
Dr. Labrousse has been with Ocean Veterinary Hospital since September 2000 and became the sole owner in March 2008. She is excited about moving the business to a new location, which will allow the hospital to provide enhanced care for pets in our community.
